Bianchini (Lat.Blanchinus), Giuseppe, a learned Italian priest of the Oratory, was born in Verona, Sept. 9, 1704. He studied at Rome, and was in 1725 canon at his native place. He resigned his position in 1732 and went to Rome, where he joined the Congregation of the Oratory. In 1740 he was appointed secretary to the Academy of Church History, and died after 1760. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry. McClintock entered the University of Pennsylvania in 1832 and graduated with high honors three years later.
