Bonney, Isaac a Methodist Episcopal minister of the New England Conference, born in Hardwick, Mass., Sept. 26, 1782; converted 1800; entered the itinerancy 1808; superannuated 1850; died 1855. He was a devoted Christian, an eloquent and useful minister, and an able theologian. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
