a Methodist Episcopal minister, was born in Unity, N.H., in 1836. He experienced conversion when about fourteen; at the age of nineteen received license to preach; and at the age of twenty-two entered the New England Conference. He died in Webster, Massachusetts, in March 1873. Mr. Brewster possessed excellent natural ministerial endowments, a winning voice, address, and genial spirit. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
