Bronson, Oliver a Presbyterian minister, was born in Utica, N.Y., January 9, 1826. He graduated at Union College, Schenectady, in 1843, and from the Theological Seminary at Auburn, in 1853. In 1854 he accepted a call from the Reformed Protestant (Dutch) Church at Kinderhook. In 1858 he was installed as pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Janesville. He died January 10, 1860. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry. McClintock entered the University of Pennsylvania in 1832 and graduated with high honors three years later.
