Burnet, Eleazar a Presbyterian minister, graduated at Princeton College in 1799. He was licensed by the presbytery of New York in 1804; was ordained and installed at Newburgh Nov. 20,1805; and died at New Brunswick, N. J., Nov. 22, 1806. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
