Cabassole, Philippe De a French prelate, was born at Cavaillon (Venaissin) in 1305. He became chancellor of Sicily, patriarch of Constantinople, cardinal and legate, and was intimately associated with Petrarch. He died at Perousia in 1371, and was buried in the Carthusian Church of Bonpas, where his marble mausoleum was seen in 1791. He wrote a few sermons and practical works in Latin. See Hoefer, Nouv. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
