Cavagni, Govanni Battista a Neapolitan architect, flourished about 1585. In connection with Vicente della Monica, he erected the church and convent of San Gregorio Armeno, at Naples. The Sacred Monte della Pieta was also erected by Cavagni, and secured for him great reputation. He died in 1600.

John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
