a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church South, was born in Maury County, Tennessee, February 8, 1811. He embraced religion in 1827, and in 1836 entered the Tennessee Conference, in which he labored until the formation of the Memphis Conference, when he became one of its. members. He died October 2, 1856. Mr. Chisholm. was a man of great excellence of character, a royal preacher, and an exemplary Christian. See Minutes of Annual Conferences of the M.E. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
