a Protestant Episcopal clergyman, was born in 1807. He graduated from Trinity College in 1831, was ordained deacon in 1835. and was rector of St. John's Church, Waterbury, Conn., from 1837 until. his death, Jan. 25, 1877. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
