Conov, Peter a Lutheran theologian of Germany, was born February 8, 1580, at Prenzlow. In 1602 he was preacher at Karnow; in 1605 he was called to Berlin as archdeacon of St. Mary's, and in 1611 to Alt-Brandenburg, where he died, August 18, 1642. He wrote, Repetitio Sanes Doctrinae de vera ac Reali Corporis Praesentia in S. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry. McClintock entered the University of Pennsylvania in 1832 and graduated with high honors three years later.
