Cunningham, Joseph Parker a Presbyterian minister, was born in Greene County, Georgia, January 21, 1799. He was educated in Transylvania University, Kentucky, and graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1821; was licensed to preach by the New Brunswick Presbytery in 1822; in 1824 was ordained pastor of Concord Church by South Alabama Presbytery, in 1832 became stated supply at Mt. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
