Dollendorp, Johann (or HEINRICH VON), a German theologian, was a professed monk of the convent of the Carmelites of Cologne and doctor of the University of Paris. He taught in that capital in 1339, became provincial of his. order for Germany in 1351, and gained great reputation both as a theologian and as a preacher. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
