Fleming, Patrick an Irish Roman Catholic ecclesiastic and writer, was born at Louth, 4pril 17, 1599. He was appointed lecturer of divinity at Prague, where he remained until the city was besieged by the elector of Saxony in 1631, when he was murdered. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
