He'gai (Heb. Hegay', הֵגִי, perh. eunuch, Es 2:8,15; Sept. Τα‹,Vulg. Egeus) or He'ge (Heb. id. הֵגֶאidem, Es 2:3; Sept. omits, Vulg. Egeus), the eunuch having charge of the harem of Xerxes, and the preparation of the females sought as concubines for him. B.C. 479. Winer (Wörterbuch s.v.) thinks he may be the same with Hegias ( ῾Ηγίας), who is mentioned by Ctesias (Perseus, 24) as present at the check of the Persian army at Thermopylae.
