Khhumbandas an order of beings among the Buddhists, who are believed to be the attendants of Wirudha, one. of the four guardian Dewas. They are monsters of immense size and disgusting form, have blue garments, hold a sword and a shield of sapphire, and are mounted on blue horses. They form one of the thirteen orders of intelligence exclusive of the supreme Buddhas.

John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
