Lynch, Thomas Toke an English poet, was born at Dunmore, Essex, July 5, 1818, served as pastor in various chapels near London, and died May 9, 1871. Besides several prose works, he published a book in verse, called The Revealed (1855). See his Memoirs, by White (Lond. 1874).

John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
