Moneta an Italian theologian and member of the order of the Dominicans at Cremona, flourished in the 13th century. He was, before entering the orders professor in the University of Bologna. He was noted for his sense and his zeal against the false teachers of his time. He died about 1240. Moneta left a Summa contra Catharos et Waldenses (Rome, 1643). John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
