Nalson, Valentine an Anglican divine, was born in 1641. But little is known of his personal history. He was prebend of York near the opening of the 18th century, and died in 1724. He published shortly before his death Twenty Sermons (Lond. 1724, 8vo).

John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
