Nucci, Alvanzino an Italian painter, was born at Citta di Castello in 1552. After studying in his native place he went to Rome, and became the pupil of Niccolo Circigano, and was his ablest scholar. Nucci assisted his master in almost all the works he executed in the Vatican. Nucci also painted many works by himself in the churches and palaces at Rome. He afterwards went to Naples, where he painted for the churches. He wrought with great facility and dispatch in a style resembling his master, though he was inferior to him in grandeur. Lanzi commends his Murder of the Innocents in the church of St. Silvestro, at Fabriano. He died in 1629.
