a Baptist minister, was born at Bridgewater, Massachusetts, May 5, 1792. He was converted in 1811, and ordained June 8, 1813, pastor at Lattentown, N.Y., where he remained twelve years. Twice he was pastor of churches in the city of New York. He died in October, 1881, at Red Bank, N.J. He was remarkably successful in his ministerial labors. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
