Wadsworth, George an English Wesleyan preacher, was sent out by the conference in 1770. He was a plain, pious man, and for twenty-five years labored in the vineyard. In 1797, being afflicted with the palsy, he retired from the active work. Some of his faculties were taken from him before his dissolution. He died June 12, 1797. See Atmore, Meth. Memorial, s.v.

John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry. McClintock entered the University of Pennsylvania in 1832 and graduated with high honors three years later.
