Wainright, William an English Congregational minister, was born in London, September, 1806. He was educated at Christ's Hospital, and while there became deeply impressed with religious things. He early engaged in Sabbath school work and lay preaching, and in 1849 was ordained at Tarrant, Hampshire. Mr. Wainright labored successively at Wheathampstead and Cordicote, and was recognised by the Church as an earnest and zealous advocate of the religion of Jesus Christ. He died May 8, 1865. John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry.
