Zedner, Joseph for a long time custodian at the British Museum, in London, was born at Gross-Glosgau in 1804, and died in Berlin, October 10, 1871. He wrote, Ueber den Wortton in der hebr. Jahrhunderts bis auf die Gegenwart (Heb. and Germ. ibid. 1840): — ויוסŠ אברהם, or Abraham ben-Ezra's Commentary on the Book of Esther after another Version (Lond. 1850): — Catalogue of the Hebrew Books in the Library of the British Afuseunm (ibid. 1867). John McClintock was born October 27, 1814 in Philadelphia to Irish immigrants, John and Martha McClintock. He began as a clerk in his father's store, and then became a bookkeeper in the Methodist Book Concern in New York. Here he converted to Methodism and considered joining the ministry. McClintock entered the University of Pennsylvania in 1832 and graduated with high honors three years later.
