But, according to 1 Chronicles 3:17 , Shealtiel was the oldest son of King Jeconiah; in 1 Chronicles 3:19 the Massoretic Text makes Pedaiah, a brother of Shealtiel, the father of Zerubbabel (compare Curtis, ICC ).
