This Sunday the sermon is from Zechariah 3:1-10 –Cleansing for the Priest; Cleansing for the People. “And the Lord said to Satan, ‘The Lord rebuke you, O Satan!’” – Zechariah 3:2

The Apostle Paul asks a penetrating question in Romans 8:33, “Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect?” Zechariah Chapter 3 shows Satan resorting to this tactic as he accuses Joshua the high priest. But the Lord defends Joshua and rebukes Satan. The basis of the rebuke is found in Paul’s brief assertion, “It is God who justifies.” (Romans 8:33) God has declared His people justified and no one can alter His verdict.
