Jesus gave his apostles a prophecy about his own destiny, but they did not understand what it all meant. Many today still fail to understand why Jesus came and what he accomplished (i.e., his divine destiny). The apostles later learned the meaning behind Jesus' prophecy, and they revealed it in the rest of the New Testament: Jesus' destiny was to redeem sinners.
