Context is an important word in Bible study. Who is being addressed? Under what circumstance is that person being addressed? What are the instructions being given? How are those instructions unique to that person or standard for every person? To understand correctly the primary message God is trying to convey in scripture, it is necessary for us to pay attention to context. However, are there other lessons that can learned from a text? Are there additional teachings we can glean from a passage? Many times, the answer is, "Yes!" Matthew 25:14-30 to the Sebring Parkway church of Christ entitled, "The Parable of the Talents (The Secondary Lessons)."
