The Preaching Author

Job stood up and tore his robe in grief. Then he shaved his head and fell to the ground to worship. He said, “I came naked from my mother’s womb, and I will be naked when I leave. The Lord gave me what I had, and the Lord has taken it away. Praise the name of the Lord!” In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God.-Job 1:20-22 
 
Whether good or bad, when you're rich or poor, when you're the most liked or the least liked, you have to thank the Lord through it all. We shouldn't praise His holy name only when things are going great for us. Praise Jesus Christ even when you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Shout and give Him thanks even when there's a drought or lack of food. Let Jesus know that you still love Him even though you've lost so many wonderful things and people in your life. 
 
Even when we're suffering He's still around working for our good. Jesus Christ is always going to be with us through EVERY moment in our lives. 
 
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.-1 Thessalonians 5:18

Seeking Jesus First Episode 31: God is Control-Ecclesiastes 7:13-14

Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”-Luke 11:28 
 
Merriam-Webster defines hearing as the “process, function, or power of perceiving sound; specifically: the special sense by which noises and tones are received as stimuli.” Listening, on the other hand, means “to pay attention to sound; to hear something with thoughtful attention; and to give consideration.” 
 
Basically, you're using your ears to hear but not paying attention to what's exactly being sent into it. Listening is when you pay close attention to what's entering your ears. Church of God, you're playing with fire when you act like you didn't hear exactly what the Lord instructed you to do. You'll say, "I didn't know you meant it that way Lord" or "I'm sorry Lord, I misinterpreted what You told me." 
 
John 10:27 says that God's people listen to His voice. The Lord knows them and they follow Him. Body of Christ, when the Lord speaks He speaks in the language you understand. He speaks directly to your spirit, relating to the pressing circumstance in your life. And Jesus Christ speaks in a way that you won't have to say, "What does that even mean?" or "Come again, I didn't quite hear you." Jesus Christ speaks to us loud and clear. Now it's up to us on what we should do after receiving His holy message. 
 
There will always be a cause and effect, rewards and punishments when we listen and act on God's instructions. You can't avoid either the good or bad decisions you make after God's words reach your spirit and ears. Brothers and sisters don't act like you didn't hear the instructions or advisement the Lord gave you. All will be well if you do everything as He says. 
 
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.-James 1:22

The Rewards for Obedience-Jeremiah 7:23

Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.-Matthew 22:29 
 
The power and glory that the Lord possesses can not be measured or weighed on any man made scale. His unlimited power is beyond our comprehension. Point out someone who was capable of doing the things the Lord has done, is currently doing, and will do in the coming future. Who on Earth can walk up to the Lord and show Him the ropes, or properly teach Him to do something? Elihu said in Job 36:23 that no one can tell God what to do, or correct/discipline Him. 
 
Our Lord and Savior doesn't have a single limitation in His being. He knows no bounds that He can't go over. If He said He's going to do something, an army can't stand in His way. Isaiah 14:27 asks the readers 'who can change His plans? When His hand is raised, who can stop Him?' 
 
Job even admitted it in Job 42:2. "I know that You can do anything, and no one can stop You." Basically Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and End has absolute and unmeasurable power coursing throughout His glorious being. He has the power to provide your needs. He has the wisdom and understanding to answer your toughest questions and prayers. Jesus Christ is quick enough to rescue you in your most dire moments. 
 
Mankind is limited by health, age, finances, transportation, education, and so much more. However, Jesus Christ holds all of that in the palm of His hands as stated in Colossians 1:17. 
 
He existed before anything else, and He holds all creation together.-Colossians 1:17

But as long as you repent from the heart, depart from your wicked ways, and seek the Lord wholeheartedly then you will experience God's eternal love for all time. Not only you, but also you're future generation. 
 
Even when you have turned your back on the Lord, running into the world, the Lord's love for you will never end. He has ways to bring you back into His loving embrace. Though you went to Egypt, satisfying your sinful ways, Jesus Christ hasn't forgotten about you. Nor will He ever. You and I mean too much to Him. He gets overjoyed when you return to His arms and presence. There's celebration in Heaven when a backslider returns to the life of a Christian. Why? 
 
Because the Lord's faithful love endures FOREVER! 
 
But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear Him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to His covenant, of those who obey His commandments!-Psalm 103:17-18

Healing, breakthroughs, miracles, blessings and more can only be obtained when we call on the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The things of this world like money, fame, popularity, cars, opportunities and more don't last forever. But the blessings from the Lord are always new each and every morning. Jesus Christ is the only one who truly has your need in the palm of His hands. He is the only one who has the key and solution to all of your problems and worries. However, we can't receive it unless we put people, our ego, and much more aside and humbly call on Him. 
 
Everyone has a need and goes through problems in their lives. We need to develop a habit of calling on Jesus Christ through the good AND bad times in our lives. For our physical life we need to breathe, food to eat, and water to keep going. And for our spiritual life, we need Jesus Christ to step in everyday to help us live to our full potential. 
 
Whether you're distressed, hungry, poor, sick, homeless only by calling on the name of Jesus Christ can we be rescued and liberated. Take time to get on your knees and call Jesus Christ, telling Him everything that you need Him to do for you. 
 
Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on Him.-Romans 10:12

Just Call-Psalm 107:28

haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows discord in a family.-Proverbs 6:17-19 
 
All seven of those the Lord detests. We are His children. We are His creations. We are the Lord's soldiers, and neither of us should commit those travesties. If our main goal is to make the Lord proud of us, then we can't allow ourselves to even think about doing those seven things. We know sin is all around us, and it's sometimes a challenge to fight temptation. But when we are weak, He is strong. Many times we don't call on the Lord enough when we find ourselves on the brink of collapsing/sinning. Many times we commit the act, later asking for forgiveness and hoping we don't do it again. 
 
We can't continue on that vicious cycle, brothers and sisters. We need to call on the Lord IMMEDIATELY when we feel the urge to commit those seven detestable sins. If we don't, we regret it the entire day. We suffer the consequences for a great deal of time, wishing we could go back in time to prevent ourselves from doing it. God is not deaf to our cries. Nor is He blind to our pain. If you're struggling call on Him, and receive reprieve from our Sovereign Creator.

7 Things the Lord Detests-Proverbs 6:16

Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time.-Proverbs 13:11 
 
We know what the Bible says in Matthew 6:24. We can't serve both God and money. We can't worship money and be envious of others who have more than us. However, if we remain faithful and consistent in our work, the Lord will repay us. All of our hard work will not go in vain. When did the Lord ever not reward His faithful servants from all of their hard work and commitment to Him? He's always been faithful to the godly through the good and bad times. 
 
All of the wealth the wicked have accumulated will not go with them to grave. Their car(s), home(s), reward(s), clothing won't take them to Heaven. It won't save them from descending to hell unless they repent, and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal savior. Riches from the world and done with a lying tongue, disappear as quickly as they arrived. But the riches of the godly received from our Heavenly Father last a lifetime. 
 
The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22 is 100% right! The Lord knows how and when to reward His children as long as they continue to do what is right. However, whenever, and wherever you're working for the Lord, whether it's singing, preaching, praying for the sick, feeding and clothing the less fortunate the Lord has His eyes on you. And when you least expect it, you will receive an abundance in what you truly need.

Never Bankrupt With the Lord-Proverbs 11:18

The Lord is watching everywhere, keeping His eye on both the evil and the good.-Proverbs 15:3 
 
We serve a great and mighty God who is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient. Genesis 1:27 states that we were made in the image of the Lord. We have ears, mouths, and eyes because He had them first. The Lord isn't deaf to our prayers. He isn't blind to our suffering. In Psalm 139:2-3, God sees where we're traveling to, when we're resting, and even what we're thinking about. He sees the corruption being committed by evildoers. God is always aware of the time you're spending preaching, evangelizing, praying, and working for the Lord. 
 
Never think or allow the enemy, who we rebuke in the name of Jesus Christ, to make you believe that God is fed up with your prayers. Never believe that Jesus Christ is giving us a cold shoulder. God is always watching! According to Psalm 121:8, the Lord is watching over you and I as we come and go, both now and forever. There's no escaping God's sight. There's no way we can speak without Him hearing us. He cares about us way too much to forget or dismiss His own creations. The Lord, He's always in our corner for better or for worse. 
 
For the Lord sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes.-Proverbs 5:21

The God Who Sees and Hears All-Psalm 94:9

Ephesians 3:20 uses the word 'infinitely' when stating that the Lord will accomplish more than we might ask or think. King Sennacherib even found out the hard way this own god couldn't rescue him from the grip of death. After running back to his hometown after an angel sent by the Lord killed his fighting men, the king of Assyria went into his god's temple to pray. What happened then? 
 
And the Lord sent an angel who destroyed the Assyrian army with all its commanders and officers. So Sennacherib was forced to return home in disgrace to his own land. And when he entered the temple of his god, some of his own sons killed him there with a sword.-2 Chronicles 32:21 
 
Our Lord and Savior, Sovereign Creator, the Alpha and Omega is unlike we've ever or will ever meet. The Lord is able to do infinite amount of things that we can't even imagine. No one can challenge Him and defeat Him. Everyone who's ever believed that they could frighten or weaken the Lord has always failed. No one stands a chance against the Lord. 
 
Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.-Ephesians 3:20

Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.-Proverbs 11:2 
 
King Uzziah at 16 years old became king of Judah. The Lord blessed him with fame and fortune, allowing his name to be even heard as far as Egypt. But if you're not strong, mature, and smart enough to realize when pride is sneaking up on you then you become an easy target for it. You start realizing little by little that because of it, blessings begin to disappear in your life. 
 
James 4:10 instructs us to humble ourselves to the Lord. As long as we do that, He will lift us up. Uzziah believed he was a hotshot, the cream of the crop. He believed he could do whatever he wanted. And because he didn't rebuke the enemy's darts, Uzziah was struck with leprosy losing all that the Lord had blessed him with. Even in death, he was solely remembered as the one with leprosy not being buried in the royal palace. 
 
Brothers and sisters, make sure you stay where the Lord has placed you in. Make sure you don't let your head get inflated because everyone is calling you, wanting to take a picture with you, because your bank account has more digits than you can count, and more. Jesus Christ put you in that position in your life. Not only that, but the Lord has called you to be a specific part of His body. 
 
Don't cross any lines and constantly remind yourself: Jesus Christ did all this, not me. 
 
And He gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."-James 4:6

King Solomon didn't just offer sacrifices to the Lord, but he also obeyed his father. King David instructed his son to construct the Temple of the Lord, giving him the materials and blueprint to do so. Solomon made sure that the same God who rescued his father and blessed his kingdom would get a proper dwelling place. Though the Lord made him the wisest, richest, and the most famous king in all the world, 2 Chronicles 1:12, Solomon still served Him and wanted to do more for the Lord God. 
 
It was David's idea to construct the Temple of the Lord. 
 
but God said to me, ‘You must not build a Temple to honor My name, for you are a warrior and have shed much blood.’-1 Chronicles 28:3 
 
However, the Lord chose David's son, Solomon, to be the man for the job. 
 
He said to me, ‘Your son Solomon will build My Temple and its courtyards, for I have chosen him as My son, and I will be his father.-1 Chronicles 28:6 
 
Do you wish for the Lord to visit you in your time of need? Are you willing to sacrifice something or offer something to the Lord Jesus Christ? Begging for the Lord to appear in your dreams, to touch you, call your name, and show you something relating to your problem? 
 
Seek His presence continually. Make sure you have Jesus Christ as your number one priority. No one and nothing else. 
 
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.-Matthew 6:33

King Solomon didn't just offer sacrifices to the Lord, but he also obeyed his father. King David instructed his son to construct the Temple of the Lord, giving him the materials and blueprint to do so. Solomon made sure that the same God who rescued his father and blessed his kingdom would get a proper dwelling place. Though the Lord made him the wisest, richest, and the most famous king in all the world, 2 Chronicles 1:12, Solomon still served Him and wanted to do more for the Lord God.

It was David's idea to construct the Temple of the Lord.

but God said to me, ‘You must not build a Temple to honor My name, for you are a warrior and have shed much blood.’-1 Chronicles 28:3

However, the Lord chose David's son, Solomon, to be the man for the job.


Who Wants It Too?-2 Chronicles 1:7

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.-Isaiah 55:8 
 
No one can ever say, "Oh, I know what the Lord is planning in my life. I know what He's going to do next." No one understands what Jesus Christ is doing for us, where He's taking us, and why so many things are changing in your lives. The Lord works in ways that we grab our heads, wondering what's going to happen next. Jesus Christ is always working for our good. He always has our best interest in mind. We might not understand it at the time. But sooner or later, we'll give Him all of the thanks and glory that He rightfully deserves. 
 
Don't try to figure what the Lord is going to do next in your life, or the life of your loved ones. Simply pray that the Lord helps you get through the test. Continuously ask the Lord for courage, patience, protection and guidance. Let Him handle what He knows needs to be handled. And don't fight His plans, or try to get your way. Jesus Christ needs to remain in complete and utter control of our lives.

This almighty sovereign being is constantly working for our good 24/7, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. He is never taking a break and ignoring the pleas of His faithful ones. His name is Jesus Christ. 
 
The same one who everyone talks about who forgives your many sins each time you repent from the heart. The same person who Christians preach, saying that He will return to save us from the horrors that are bound to come. Jesus Christ is a mighty and faithful God, who accepts all types of people. Young and old, straight and gay, rich and poor, Jew and Gentile. 
 
Jesus Christ doesn't choose who He wants to come to Heaven. He accepts all who open the hearts and invite Him into their lives. 
 
Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like Me.-Isaiah 46:9

They'll get jealous and even try to derail us from the path the Lord has put us on. 
 
But ready for the news flash? Those same people who rejected and disrespected you will come back, running to you asking for help in some shape, way, and form. Of course don't use that opportunity to reject them back. Joseph didn't harm his brothers after they had sold him for a few coins. He fed them and their families, and gave them a home in Egypt during a crisis. In the book of Judges, Jephthah helped the people of Israel defeat the Ammonites after his brothers had rejected him just because his mother was a prostitute. 
 
When your enemies come back into your life seeking your assistance, and hoping that you pray for them, ask the Holy Spirit to give you the capacity to help them. The Lord will put you in a position in life where you'll be able to help your allies, families, and even persecutors. 
 
But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!-Matthew 5:44

It Happens-Judges 11:7

Though he was nearing one hundred, he still felt as strong as when Moses was commander of Israel. Jesus Christ not only keeps His promises, but He also makes sure that you're preserved and your strength doesn't wither away. In Deuteronomy 29:5, the people of Israel traveled for forty years through the wilderness. Yet their clothes and sandals did not wear out. 
 
No one person on this planet is able to keep ALL of the promises they ever made. However, Joshua 21:45 clearly shows us that not a single one of all the good promises the Lord had ever made with Israel was left unfulfilled. Guess what? Everything He had spoken came true! 
 
So the promises Jesus Christ has ever made with you, and will make with you, ALL of them WILL be fulfilled by our Sovereign Lord. Age will not get the best of you. Abraham and Sarah were able to take care for of their child Issac, who they prayed for, when they were nearing 100 years old! Jesus Christ never abandons or fails His faithful ones. 
 
No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.-Joshua 1:5

2 Corinthians 4:9 says that the Lord God will never abandon us. He will never allow you to drown in your troubles. Jesus Christ rested during a fierce storm, while everyone on the boat were shouting and losing their mind. The Messiah was resting his head on a cushion, paying no attention to the mighty winds, fierce waves, the thunder and lightning. If the Lord could do it, so can we. 
 
He also had the courage to get up and rebuke the wind and waves. "Silence! Be still!" Jesus shouted. Be brave enough to rebuke the storm during your prayer time. Be calm enough to close your eyes, and thank the Lord that this too shall pass. Stay calm and watch as the Lord fights for you, your family, and your loved ones. He will never abandon you to get shipwrecked, drown, stranded, deserted, etc. 
 
We serve a mighty and just God in Jesus Christ. 
 
We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.-2 Corinthians 4:8-9

They were doing detestable things in His sight, such as worshiping the images of Baal and Ashtoreth. The people of Israel were giving their daughters to sons of pagan nations, and allowing their sons to marry the daughters of pagan nations as well. Before their deaths, Moses and Joshua reminded the people of Israel not to turn their backs on the Lord. 
 
The One who rescued them from the evil tyranny of Egypt. Who gave them water, mana, and meat during their time in the desert. The One and Only Sovereign God who made sure their sandals and clothes didn't wear out. After realizing that their handmade images weren't doing a single thing to save them from their enemies, the people of Israel realized only one thing could be done. They needed to return to their roots. 
 
They needed the Lord's mighty help. Psalm 84:11 says that the Lord will not withhold any good thing from those who do what is right. When the Lord saw the people of Israel putting aside their images, He was grieved by their misery. The Lord knew it was time to act. 
 
Turn from your wicked ways brothers and sisters. Put aside things, actions, hobbies, concepts and relationships that will only lead you away from the Lord's favor and grace. Once we run back to His feet, wholeheartedly repenting from our sins we can expect the Lord to fight our battles for us. And of course win them all. 
 
For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.-Psalm 30:5

The devil and his demons, who we rebuke in the name of Jesus Christ, always asked the Lord for permission before acting. Before they took a single step to carry out their wicked schemes, they required God's mighty and divine permission. If the dwellers of darkness constantly ask for God's permission, we need to ask Him ten times more. 
 
Before moving, grabbing something, giving your heart, attention, or time to someone or something ask what the Lord thinks of it.

Giving your brother and sister in Christ, your enemy, family member at least five or ten minutes to buy them something to eat or drink won't kill you. Giving them your time to briefly help them in moments like loading their car with food, helping them at work, calling 911 when they're not feeling well, and much more. Remember brothers and sisters, the Lord looks at every sacrifice you make. The little and big ones He keeps His gaze on.
