Man loves to boast about his great achievements and knowledge. It hurts our pride to admit that without God, we can do absolutely nothing.

Acts 17:28 “For in Him (God) we live, and move, and have our being...” God who created the whole universe is the Source of life and energy. The ability to take each breath and to make each step is God-given. God is the Source of all knowledge and He made man in His own image, that he too, can possess knowledge and wisdom. Nothing would exist without God.

Man in his pride forgets his utter frailty and mortality; death respects no man and can come instantly at the most unexpected moment. Friend, “Remember now thy Creator...” (Ecclesiastes 12:1) “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36)

Christ bids us abide in Him. He is the Giver of eternal life. He came to earth, bore our sins on His own body and paid the FULL penalty of all our sins by giving His life in our place on the cross as our Perfect Substitute. Christ suffered in our place and He drank the whole cup of God’s wrath, leaving nothing for us to pay (John 19:30, Psalm 116:3, Mark 9:44). Jesus resurrected the third day for our justification before God (Romans 4:25). All who depend solely on Christ‘s substitutional atonement for salvation are immediately given the free gift of eternal life (John 3:16).

How do we abide in Christ? To be united to the Vine, we must first trust in Jesus as our all-sufficient Saviour to save us from the eternal condemnation of our sins. After our salvation in Christ, we build our relationship with God by daily studying His Word and communing with Him in prayer throughout each day. The closer we walk with God, the more fruit we will bear for the glory of His Name!

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
