“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matthew 6:24)

“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” (1Timothy 6:10)

Wealth should never be your idol and money should not be your life’s pursuit. You cannot serve God and mammon.

We are stewards of what God has bestowed upon us and money is one of them. As good stewards of God, we should use money as a tool to expand the kingdom of God, support ministries and missions, and help needy brethren. This is the way to convert your earthly cash to heavenly treasures that last for eternity.

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.” (1Timothy 6:6-8)

Do not be a slave to money. Money is not evil in itself, but indulgence and lust after it is a sin. Be contented with what God has given you and count your blessings. Find ways to be a blessing to others. Be God’s faithful steward and live obeying His Word. Seek God and His Kingdom and let this be the priority in your life (Matthew 6:33).

“Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.” (Proverbs 30:8-9)

“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.” (1Timothy 6:11)

“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8)
