"Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Thy law is the truth." word for law - truth; throughout this 18th section there is a distinct difference from most of the other Psalm. David uses 'Thy' descriptively many times over throughout these verses. In verse 140, 'Thy word. . .Thy servant'. And here in this verse we have it again, 'Thy righteousness. . ..Thy law'. Thy righteousenss is an everlasting righteousness - all attributes of God are eternal as He is; He, Who is eternal, immortal, infinite, displays His characteristics in like manner. This one description of His many traits is found in His righteosness. He is righteous; covered in it; it proceeds from Him. To be right, means there is no wrong; there is no evil or sin. To have evil or sin means that one is not righteous. We cannot never be righteous on our own. 'All our righteousness is as flithy rags.' Yet the righteousness of the Lord is perfect and entire, never knowing any blemish, sin or inqiutiy. He takes His blessed, perfect righteousness and covers us (robes us) with it. And because His righteousness is right in all ways, it also takes on His other attributes of eternal, everlasting, ever existing, and permanent. There is no power to destroy God. There is no power to remove Him from His Own designated place of sovereignty. He rules; He reigns. And out of Him proceeds this righteousenss carried by His eternity. It is a part of Him as His Love, grace, mercy, power is sustained and kept by His immortal existence. Knowing no beginning and no end. However, before I go any further. If we truly sat down to contemplate this, we would quickly burn up our brain cells. 'How can finite understand infinite?' We can't. We understand beginning an end. We understand the here and the now. It is hard for us to grasp God's everlasting ways. Yet by faith, we must accept this truth, 'His righteousness is everlasting'. It has always been, it is 'being' for the here and now; and it will always be. For He is God, and His ways are right always. If you find fault with God or His ways, good or bad, then you seek to dismiss the truth of this statement. Simply because I don't understand nor knwo the full ways of God, does not give me the right to question His righteousness. He is righteous is in all ways. 'All things work together for good'; all things work for His righteousness. Accept this truth and don't dismiss it with doubt or unbelief.
