"Thou art near, O Lord; and all Thy commandments are truth."
word for law - commandments; Thou art near, O Lord - how precious and delightful to the soul that knows God; As you read through the Gospels, 'Lord' is not used much. But when it is there was a closeness between Christ and the disciple. And so it is with us today. Who can call Him, 'Lord' unless he knows Him? The proximity of His presence is there, He is near. How near is He to thee today? ARe you walking in oneness with the Lord? ARe you walking contrary to Him? We know the sad evidence of the church is that there is great distance between Him and us. It is not meant to be this way. 'Draw nigh unto Me, and I will draw night unto you.' is the promise of the Lord. DAvid knew something was special and precious here. He has just got done mentioning all the calamities of enemeis and trials. Yet, the Lord is near. And if we be right with Him, He will be near us.
And if He is not near us, then something is wrong. Find that cause of sin which has propelled the Lord away from you. It is not a fault on His half, but ours. He does not leave us, but we leave HIm. Can you remember or do you know the nearness of Christ and what joy and peace is found? there is no blessing than such a time when He is near. All is bliss and strength is found when He is near. Promises are fulfilled and prayers answered when He is near. Look through the Gospels, what happened when Christ drew near? Miracles, salvation, healing, Divine teaching and prophecy; 'Did not our hearts burn witin us when He spoke?' There is a radiance put off from Him of the Holy Spirit and His glory when He is near. Moses had been in the presence of God on the mount and when he came down, he face shone. There is a glory that is manifested from being near Him. Then how much, if all these things be true, should we not seek to be near Him?
