Lamentations 5:21 "Turn thou us unto thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old." Oh how we need a sovereign move of God in this wicked day that we are living in. Our hearts are evil continually and darkness is covering the earth and the light is growing dim. The Church that once burned with holy passion for our Lord and Savior has seemingly lost the savor of her salt! That which was once effective and compassionate has become mundane and cold-hearted! In such wicked hours as these can we but cry as Jeremiah? Oh Lord, turn thou us unto thee! I ask, where are the intercessors that sit on the walls of our cities and cry day and night before God for a move of His Spirit? Where are those Isaiah spoke of when he said, "keep not silence, O watchmen!" The prayer meeting that once burned the midnight oil has run out of oil for her lamp and now we are engulfed in darkness. Pageantry has replaced prayer and concessions have replaced intercessions and the results are churches that are entertainment houses instead of houses of prayer! Our religious gimmickry has drawn a host of people desiring to see the dog and pony show or those with self-propagated agenda's instead of broken, contrite hearts. The demonic forces that hover in controlling power over our cities fill our churches every Sunday mocking and blaspheming that which has fallen away from the purity and power of what used to be a holy institution. The weak kneed men standing behind the see through pulpits live in extravagant homes with darkly stained windows to hide the corruption of their own personal lives while the bound are afforded no freedom and the sick no healing and the poor no refuge! Our doctrines have degraded from righteousness and holiness, redemption and sanctification to such sludge as financial prosperity and name it claim it heresies. Our religion has swayed from self-abasement to self-satisfaction and from cross-bearing to wife-sharing. Oh that the Lord would send a wave of His Spirit to cleanse this corrupt thing with a breath of revival fire! There are many religious fads in this day and time that we are living in that try to remind us of the nearness of Christ's return. Books are being written by the droves that try to shift the minds of the average believer to the second coming but Church we are delaying His return with our low-living and perverted standards. Paul wrote to the Ephesian Church stating the Lord would come back for a Church that is clean, pure, undefiled, without wrinkles, spots or any such thing! He is not coming back for a prostituted Church! We are given to everything but our true Lover in this late hour! Oh that we might see clearly and repent of our lethargy and the spirit of whoredom that has come upon the Church. Turn us thou to Thee, Oh Lord, and and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old!
