Seeking God’s Will in Everything
Once my son Daniel asked me for permission to go and watch a game with his friends. I asked him, “Son, did you ask for God’s permission, whether He would like it?”
Instead of saying no to him, I let him seek God’s will and decide. I wanted him to learn this principle from his childhood.
Daniel went to his room silently and came back after some time and said, “Daddy, I am not going, I think God would not like it.” The answer of my son made me happy. I was thinking that sending him with his friends to watch the game was good, but at that moment he came back to me after prayer and told me this.
When we give ourselves to the will of God, our wishes may not be fulfilled. But still it will end for our own good.
To forsake our wishes and give ourselves to the will of God requires humbleness and our complete surrender. Not only that, we need a mind to give our life completely to the Spirit.
Those who don’t obey God obey Satan. Those who don’t obey God’s will obey the will of Satan. Satan wants each of us to go against the will of God and perish. He wants to live without even thinking about God’s will, living according to our likes and way of doing things. Don’t forget that this is the will of Satan.
Three Steps to a Victorious Life
“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you.”(James 4:7-8)
According to St. James, those who want to achieve righteousness have to obey three things:
Surrender to God: we must abandon our arrogance, pride and self in the light of God’s words.
Stand against thoughts of committing sins and going against God, which are from Satan: we have to stand against Satan who comes to us with these thoughts. When we do this, Satan will run away from us.
Go near God: I think it’s like a son going to his father, if we go near God, he will come near to us.
Once at night I was in my study reading. My son Daniel (who was only four years old at the time) opened the door of the study and came next to me. He was ready to go to bed after his prayers. I took him to his bed, left him there and continued my reading. I heard some noise and turned and saw Daniel standing in the doorway, his eyes fixed on me.
“Daniel, why are you not sleeping? Why you are standing here?” To my question he replied, “Daddy, I don’t want anything, I just came to sit with you.” Saying these words, he jumped into my lap and sat there. He buried his head on my chest. He sat like that for some more time and then finally went back to bed.
For a son to be in the presence of his loving father is the dearest feeling. Leaning on his father’s bosom gives him strength and courage. No father will abandon a son who is rushing to be with him.

Never be lazy to go near God. When we are close to Him, He will come near; He will never abandon us.
We have to remove all the stumbling blocks which will hinder us from going near to God. Confess your sins and leave them forever, never have double mind or a weak heart. Concentrate on God—loving him more than anything or anybody is the way to attain blessing.

Dr. K.P. Yohannan, the Metropolitan Bishop of Believers Church, was born and brought up in Niranam, Kerala. Niranam has immense historical significance in the tradition of Saint Thomas, a disciple of Jesus Christ who planted the first church there in AD 52. K.P. After over four decades of selfless service, he says, I have no regrets in praying that prayer for I know God has touched millions through what He did in and through me. It is all God’s grace. He spent the early years of his service in North India and traveled to the remote villages sharing the love of Christ and doing charitable works. Through numerous encounters during those years, he was instilled with an increasing passion to bring hope, peace, and comfort to the needy and deprived. His sacrificial commitment, farsightedness and aptitude to perceive helped him to lead a life of unhindered devotion to serve Christ and His church. K.P. K.P. Yohannan is the founder and president of Gospel for Asia, a mission organization involved in evangelism and church planting in the unreached regions of Asia. Currently Gospel for Asia supports thousands of church planters in the heart of the 10/40 window.
Born in a remote village of South India, K.P. Yohannan's personal journey toward spiritual reality began at the age of eight when he gave his heart to Christ. While he was still a young boy, his mother began fasting each week, praying God would call one of her six sons into full-time gospel ministry. Her prayers were answered in 1966 when 16 year-old K.P., her youngest, volunteered to serve in North India with Operation Mobilization.
From 1974 to 1979 K.P. attended Criswell Bible College in Dallas, Texas, where he earned his B.A. in Biblical Studies. He was also awarded an honorary doctor of divinity degree from Hindustan Bible College in Madras, India. During the time he attended Criswell, he pastored a local church in Dallas. However, he was unable to forget the millions still lost without Christ in his homeland of India, and knew God was calling him to reach his own people. In 1978 K.P. resigned his pastorate and he and his wife, Gisela, organized what is now Gospel for Asia.
