TIME, what is it? The divide between two eternities, shutting the door of the old eternity and hastening to open the door of the new eternity.
Colton was right when he spoke of THE PLUNDERER TIME:-
TIME is the most subtle, yet the most insatiable of plunderers and by appearing to take nothing, is permitted to take all; nor can it be satisfied until it has stolen the world from us, and us from the world. It constantly flies, yet overcomes all things by flight; and, although it is the present ally, it will be the future conqueror, of death. Time, the cradle of hope, but the grace of ambition, is the stern corrector of fools, but the salutary counsellor of the wise; bringing all they dread to the one, and all they desire to the other: but, like Cassandra, it warns us with a voice that even the sagest discredit too long, and the silliest believe too late. Wisdom walks before it, opportunity with it, and repentance behind it: he that has made it his friend will have little to fear from his enemies, will have little to hope from his friends. Colton

TIME, a Destroyer. I saw a temple reared by the hands of man, standing with its high pinnacle in the distant plain. The streams beat about it, the God of Nature hurled his thunder-bolts against it; yet it stood as firm as adamant. Revelry was in the hall; the gay, the happy, the young, the beautiful, were there. I returned, and, lo! The temple was no more. Its high walls lay in scattered ruin; moss and grass grew rankly there; and, at the midnight hour, the owl’s long cry added to the solitude. The young and gay who had revelled there had passed away. I saw a child rejoicing in his youth, the idol of his mother, and the pride of his father. I returned, and that child had become old. Trembling with the weight of years, he stood, the last of his generation, a stranger amidst all the desolation around him. I saw an old oak standing in all its pride upon the mountain: the birds were carolling in its boughs. I returned, and saw the oak was leafless and sapless: the winds were playing at their pastime through the branches. “Who is the destroyer?” said I to my guardian angel. “It is Time,” said he. “When the morning-stars sand together for joy over the new-made world, he commenced his course, and when he has destroyed all that is beautiful on the earth, plucked the sun in his sphere, veiled the moon in blood; yea, when he shall have rolled the heavens and the earth away as a scroll, then shall an angel from the throne of God come forth, and, with one foot upon the land, lift up his hand towards heaven, and swear by heaven’s Eternal, time was, but time shall be no more.”
Man may try to divide time but he cannot. He is as helpless as the shorn Samson against his Philistine foes.
God alone can divide time. He has divided it spiritually - the time before Christ Time, B.C. and the time after Christ Time, A.D. the year of our Lord.
He has also prophetically divided it politically. Setting the areas, of the 4 great world empires - the Babylonian, the Persian, the Greek and the Roman.
He has also ecclesiastically divided it between the Rule of Christ’s Church on earth and the Rule of Anti-Christ’s Church on earth.
Failure to grasp these divisions will leave us in the darkness.
Guided by them we will have a safe light in the darkest night upon this earth.
In the great spread of Time there is a part, special to each individual. A part of time which may be described as ‘Your Time’. It is the part of time in which you live and move and have your being on earth.
The Lord Jesus warns us that we should have understanding of the times in which we live.
It has been well said – Our time past has the head of a frowning dog. Our time present, the head of a stirring lion. Our time to come, the head of a biting wolf.
If we think that our best natural days are to come what fools we are.
We are approaching a most critical time in our history and in the history of the continent on which we live.
The Lord Jesus upbraids us.
16.1-Matt.16.4" class="scriptRef">Matt 16 v 1-4 1 ¶ The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. 3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? 4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
There is no excuse. If we don’t study our Times in the light of the Scriptures. Only the scriptures can give us the understanding of the same.
The signs of the times must be interpreted by God’s divisions and not by ours. When we bring in natural interpretations and our own ideas we shall perish for our follies.
We are in the time of the final development of the last world empire. The development of that empire will be the ten Kingdoms symbolised in the toes of the image.
Many years before our Lord Jesus walked this earth He gave to the first King of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, a vision of the final development of that last empire of fallen man.
40-Dan.2.45" class="scriptRef">Daniel 2:40-45 40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. 41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. 42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. 43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. 45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
The final evolution of the alliance of the ten Kings will be the world ruler when Jesus comes. He is that stone cut out without hands and the earth Kingdoms will be no more. With the death of time will come the death of all the empires of man.
We would do well then to keep ourselves versed in the development of that final form of the Roman Empire.
This week the Intergovernmental Euro Conference is meeting in Rome. This is the last stage in the Convention for a new Europe. Rome is to complete the new format of the New Europe. The place already picked out by God as the centre of the conspiracy against Him and the organising of opposition to His everlasting throne.
See Revelation Chapter 17. Take courage, heartening and hope from these words.
“The Lamb shall overcome them for He is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. And they that are with Him are called, chosen and faithful”.
Running parallel with the European Union Conference is the eminent death of the present Pope and the arrangement for the election of a new Pontiff of Rome.
Since the ending of the nineteenth century, when at long last the Pope discovered he was infallible, Rome will never have a more important meeting in all her dark and bloody history than the conclave to elect a new pope in the 21st century.
It is in this matter we need divine understanding of the times.
The children of God not only need such understanding but like the men of Issachar, who knew as well - blessed divine infallible knowledge - what Israel ought to be. 1 Chron 12:32
The people of God can never know what to do except they are Spirit taught in understanding the times – their own times.
Matters which lie at the very heart of the destiny of Europe are now under review and ecclesiastical, political, and legal changes are on the table and well on their way to final approval. This is a solemn time for us all. It is a crucial time.
But blessed be God the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth! And, He shall reign unto all that lick the dust of His feet.
If we are going to have understanding of the end times and not come under the condemnation of Christ for our ignorance, we must concentrate our attention on the four great areas and fields in which the movement of the great Apostasy of the Age is Working under the superintendence of Satan.
The political system of Europe as is prophesied in the last days; and, the final development of the Devil’s blue print for government of the fallen world which he rules.
The developing Apostasy from the Truth of the Bible; and, the spread of the doctrine of devils through the deceits of Ecumenism.
The developing of the Papacy, that great Antichrist system and false Church seen in the little horn of Daniel 7:8 ‘I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things’.
The Developing of Islam as seen in the Little horn of Daniel 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. These all are connected in their developing and are harnessed together to bring about the final end time Apostasy.
They should be under our constant attention and study.
