Care is a four-letter word that carries with it a powerful action motivated by emotion. A few of the most common emotional motivators for care are compassion, mercy and love. When these three are present in a person toward another who is in need, he would not be contented to just stare and do nothing.

Caring is not pity. Pity or empathy is a sad feeling when you put yourself into someone else’s shoes. But most often than not, it does not result in an outward action. Care on the other hand, moves beyond the emotional and turns it into physical or visible activity.

Jesus gives us the ultimate example when it comes to caring. He did not just say He loves us, but showed it through healing the sick, doing miracles, and dying on the cross. Do you want to follow Christ? Then you have to care for others.
