The entire Bible reflects some of the attributes of God. It lasts forever, does not change, and promotes holiness. Both God and His Word also deals the subject “truth” very seriously. If either God or the Bible speaks any form of lie, it would be difficult to trust the entirety of the Bible, or anything God says. Thankfully, God and His Word are both true.

This is why gossiping, slander, and lies should not be found within the conversations of believers among themselves. Deception and lies are the weapons of the enemy, and any person who uses these tools for his own self-preservation are in great danger.

In the New Testament church setting, gossiping and lies often create disputes and conflict among brethren. This is exactly what the enemy wants – for Christians to fight among themselves, giving them less time to do what God wants them to do.
