Bitterness is that heavy feeling when someone feels and thinks that life is unfair to him or her. This emotion almost always accompanies envy, and is a destructive human trait. In worse cases, a person who is bitter even wishes something ill or bad happens to someone else, just because of the situation he is in.

The word of God is not pleased with bitterness. Throughout Scripture, bitterness only led people to do bad things to others or move away from God’s will. It is God’s desire that we accept our own fate because it is He who planned it after all. Feeling bitter about our own situations mean that we are not trusting what God has paved for us.

So what are some verses in the Bible that talk about bitterness? What happens to people who allow bitterness in their lives?
