Back in the Old Testament, the sacrificial rituals done by the Israelites were everything – it allowed them access to God, worship, thanksgiving, requests, and even asking for forgiveness. However, when Jesus died on the cross, the sacrifices required to reach God have been taken away.

For an individual to get permanent access to God, he should first believe in the Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. As Jesus says in John 14:6, He is the way, which means there is no one else. But once a person gets access to the Father, what’s next?

This is what most Christians these days tend to overlook. Sacrifices are not required for salvation because of the blood of Christ, but it does not mean His followers do not need to sacrifice for the cause of Christ – not for salvation, but to show love and gratitude.
