The word “worship” came from its root “worth” which means importance. Using these details, worshipping God means giving Him what He is worth in your life. A person who has not truly known God cannot give the right kind of worship.
During Jesus’ earthly ministry, He told His disciples that His Father seeks those who would worship Him in spirit and truth. This two qualifications of worship speak volumes about the type and quality of worship we bring to God. It should be in spirit because only through the Holy Spirit can a believer worship God. It should be in truth because worship is always based on God’s word, the Bible.
