A PROFITABLE WALK (Proverbs 20:7-9)

Making excuses for our desire to sleep will bring poverty.  Laziness robs us of the potential to succeed.  Solomon's advice is to learn diligence from a small critter, the ant. If not, when poverty comes we won't be prepared to resist it (Pro. 6:6-8)

God is a Good Credit Risk  (Proverbs 19:17-18)

Training foolishness out of our children while they're still at a impressionable age and marrying a woman that fears the Lord (v13).  Both if not enacted upon, is a threat to your happiness and success!

Two Great Qualities  (Proverbs 19:11-12)

The Benefits of Wisdom (Proverbs 19:8-10)

Generosity Breeds Friendship (Proverbs 19:6-8)

How important is telling the truth? Is lying ever justifiable in God’s eyes? (v4).  Does He wink favorably at what we call "White lies" to prevent hurting someone or protecting  them from harm?  Listen to what the scriptures says about lying!

Foolish actions are decisions with no forethought  and no consideration of future consequences.  Choosing our own way and acting foolishly results in pain and suffering. Weigh the consequences and count the cost before acting.

Are you hungry for knowledge?  A wise man's ear is open to instruction.  He puts in the time and effort to seek God’s wisdom (v3).  Therefore, he gets knowledge because he hungers for it.

Seek and You Shall Find (Proverbs 18:14-15)

V14 The spirit of a man WILL sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear? "Sustain" means to endure. "Infirmity" means sickness or disease or weakness of any kind. 
 
A strong spirit can sustain us in any kind of trouble (v2). That’s why prayer and reading the Word is vital to keeping our spirit man strong and encouraged! (Jude 1:20) Job's spirit sustained him during his calamities. He ruled his spirit, kept his confession right about and God delivered him and gave him double for his trouble!

The Benefits of Wisdom (Proverbs 18:9-10)

Gossip undermines confidence and destroys respect among the people of God. Believers especially should be able to trust each other to fulfill the law of love, which states that love works no ill to its neighbor... (Rom. 13:10).
