'Two Angels, 'Two Messages' Revelation 14:6-8

Biblical scholars are divided on who this "mighty" angel could be. By following the clues provided in the text, we search the Scriptures to see if a conclusive identity can be made.

God is Sovereign. He makes executive decisions. He chooses. He's got plans and purposes to carry out in the world. He'll always have a remnant. We ponder all of these things in this message.

'The Election of Grace' Romans 11:1-5

Paul tells the believers in Rome that he has wanted to come and visit them for quite some time but has been prevented from doing so. Eventually, he will get there - as a prisoner. He spells out his agenda so that they will know in advance what his plans are. He also lets them know that he is not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. The righteousness of God is revealed in it. Salvation is by faith. It is not by works.

'God Has Done It All'  Romans 1:9-17

God invites Israel's neighbors to see their sin and to watch the judgment God will pour out on them. THIS prophecy was fulfilled in 722-721 B.C. God hates sin. He hated sin in the past. He hates it now. Does anyone want to hear the words "Prepare to meet your God" in a context similar to that of this text? I hope the answer is 'NO!'

'Deception in the Church AND Birth Pangs' Mark 13:3-8

Regarding the Temple and its beautiful buildings, Jesus tells his disciples that everything they saw would be destroyed. In fact, not one stone would be left upon another. Did Jesus' words literally come to pass or did Jesus make a mistake? This message will  explore seek to answer this question.

'Did Jesus Make a Mistake?' Mark 13:1-2

"Everyone will be salted with fire and every sacrifice will be salt." What does this mean? We attempt to answer this question in this message. Also, some Pharisees ask Jesus if divorce  is lawful. He answers their question by turning their attention to what God said "In the beginning." We will consider the differences between a contract and a covenant because marriage is a covenant but many people enter it with a contract mentality.

'Salt & Divorce'  Mark 9:49-10:12

Jesus gave "keys" to his disciples (initially to Peter and then to the rest). The text in Matthew 16:19 in the New American Standard Bible gives us these words of Jesus, "Whatsoever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven. Whatsoever you loose on earth will have been loosed in heaven." The challenge to believers is this: the majority of English translations state this verse in the following manner, "Whatsoever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven. Whatsoever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." the difference between these two translations is as different as night and day. We take a look at what Jesus directs us to do in this message.

'Binding and Loosing Begins in Heaven' Mark 8:27-30, Matthew 16:18-19, Acts 10

Following the feeding of the 4000 men, Jesus is asked by some Pharisees to given them a sign from heaven. They wanted to "test" him. He tells them that no sign will be given to them. Afterward, while journeying to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, Jesus begins to charge his disciples, "beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod." We delve into what Jesus warned them about and the relevance of his warning in our day.

If you've been wondering why there is such amazing confusion in America regarding marriage and now public bathroom ordinances, the answer is found in Romans 1:18-32. Simply put, God has given America over to these things BECAUSE WE HAVE TURNED OUR BACKS ON HIM. In this message I cover what's going on in American through the lens of Romans 1:18-32. I also conclude that America is NOT finished as a nation but it is in need of returning to God through repentance. The responsibility of this is upon all those who already have a relationship with God through Abraham or the Lord Jesus Christ. I mention this because 2 Chronicle 7:14 was given to God's people Israel long before Jesus came into the world so I believe both groups have a responsibility to God for America's future. My prayer is for America to return to God and for the latter days of this nation to be greater than all former days combined - because we return to the Lord.

Peter put forth the criteria that the person must meet.They had to have been with the rest of the disciples "from the baptism of John" to the ascension of Jesus. 
 
The two men whose names were brought forth as candidates who met the criteria were Barsabbas and Matthias. These men were not then voted upon as if this were an election. No, the disciples asked God to choose which one was to be added to the eleven. After asking God in pray to choose, the disciples drew lots and the lot fell to Matthias who was then added to the eleven. 
 
The selection of who is to serve in positions of leadership is a serious matter and is not to be taken lightly. This is discussed in this message.
