In our passage, we are given three powerful motives to spur you on in the faith and so lay hold of God's eternal rest. These motives hinge upon the powerful nature of the Word of God.

The sixth commandment — "You shall not murder" — does not simply deal with externals, but with our heart. In our passage, Jesus gives two truths about the spiritual nature of this law.
