Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me? The Bible is full of instruction and encouragement about the words we speak. The tongue can be used to stir up anger but it can also be used to speak words of life. My children were taught a song with the words, "be careful little mouth what you speak." We could all use this reminder with so much negative and harsh words we see and hear on a daily basis.

Be Careful Little Mouth What You Say (Proverbs 18:21)

We all have a testimony. Our testimony could be of how the Lord saved us, healed us, worked the miraculous for us, through us and in us. And the enemy of our souls does not want us to share it. But it is by the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony that we overcome that enemy. What is your testimony? Share it!

My Testimony - Revelation 12:11

We are to love God first with all our heart, soul and mind and second we are to love people. God does not say to love people's opinions, decisions, choices, political views, etc. He calls us to love Him and love people. And when you love Him, you can love people.

God Our Defender | Deuteronomy 32:4

The Lord put a children’s song on my heart recently – “Jesus Loves Me.” And He reminded me that I can come to Him as a child and share everything with Him as a child does with their mother or father. We can share our excitement, our joys, our pain, our everything!

Become as Little Children | Matthew 18:3-4

God uses the illustration of thorns in His Word to describe people who trouble His children. I have had the privilege to work with a few of these thorns. I say a privilege because of all that I learned through each one of them.

For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? But if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. I Peter 2:20

Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Ever feel as if God has forgotten you? Difficult situations can cause us to question if He forgets us but His Word promises that He will never forget us. You are always on His mind. He knows where you are and what you’re going through.

Pray Without Ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

We all gifts or talents that the Lord wants us to use to bless Him, bless others, and to bless ourselves. Using our gifts and talents is another form of worship to the One who has done so much for us!

Are You Using Your Gifts? || Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-31)

The Lord wants to order the steps of our lives. But what happens when we miss a step or we miss a step and fall? When we fall, God will never laugh or criticize us, He only wants to help us because He loves us so much.

Bloom Where You Are Planted (Jeremiah 29:4-7)

Have you been making excuses for what you know the Lord wants you to do? 
 
I like to listen to podcasts and just a few days ago I heard on one about excuses. Then a couple of days later, I hear another podcast and the same topic comes up – excuses. By this time, I know the Lord is speaking to me about the excuses I have been making. 
 
Excuses are not a new thing. 
 
Here are a two examples in the Bible of people who gave excuses: 
Genesis 3:12-13 (ESV) 
The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.” Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” 
 
Luke 14:16-20 
But he said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many. And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant[a] to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Have you been making excuses for what you know the Lord wants you to do?

I like to listen to podcasts and just a few days ago I heard on one about excuses. Then a couple of days later, I hear another podcast and the same topic comes up – excuses. By this time, I know the Lord is speaking to me about the excuses I have been making.

Excuses are not a new thing.

Here are a two examples in the Bible of people who gave excuses:
Genesis 3:12-13 (ESV)
The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate.” Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this that you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

Luke 14:16-20
But he said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many. And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant[a] to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out an

God Remains the Same | Hebrews 13:8

Have you ever been hurt by someone and you wanted to do something to hurt them in return? 
 
The very first time I experienced a deep hurt as a new Christian, I came up with a well thought out plan to humiliate this person for hurting me and my family. But through my tearful prayers, the Lord showed me in His Word how to handle this offense and I want to share it in this video.

Proverbs 15:1 
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. 
 
I’ve often viewed this scripture as the one who responds to someone who is upset or angry and that if I spoke in a soft tone, their anger would be subside. And this is true. 
 
But I learned a different meaning of this scripture the other day. Not only does a soft answer turn away another person’s anger, it turns away our own when we are angry.

God Loves You! He Loves You With An Everlasting Love - Jeremiah 31:3

God will fight many of our battles. But He will also teach us how to fight when we must fight the battle!
