We are continuing our study on the gifts of the Spirit.  We were all blessed, when we were converted, to receive a special gift from the Holy Spirit.  These gifts are to be used to build up the body of Christ and to equip the saints of God for service to do good works.  When the church is operating correctly, these gifts of the Spirit are being used for the common good of all.  When the gifts are not being used, there is division and strife in the body of Christ. Where Are All the Good People? Psalm 14:3 All have turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. Think about it People are doing things and making decisions based on their own standards of what is right and wrong. They say if it feels good do it! We are in a culture where people are run by their emotions. We are impulsive and we go and get married on the first date or we change schools if the university doesn’t meet our expectations. We are making decisions that are not well thought out. Often people don’t consult with wise advisors but just do whatever it is they want. There is a Bible verse in Psalms 14 that says no one is truly good. If that Bible verse is true, then we are making decisions that are sometimes harmful to us and those around us. Discover another path today and this week by investigating what two scriptures in the Bible have to say about this important subject: Psalm 14 and Ephesians 3:14-21. This Sunday is the day to worship the Lord and to honor fathers. The faith of our fathers over the years, has given us a rich heritage of righteous living. We have been introduced to our heavenly Father as a result of their love and faith in God. We bless those fathers that are making good choices and being good examples. There have been some fathers that have not been good role models. Some of those fathers have brought pain to many. There is hope for the fathers that have missed the mark and hurt others. Today is a new day. Today is the day to ask our heavenly Father for forgiveness and ask those that have been harmed for forgiveness. Today may all fathers everywhere call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and be healed.
