Matthew 5:46 (NKJV) For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

Love back ministry. You love those who love you. You are loving them back. We can find ourselves doing a lot of love-you-back ministry.

Tax collectors were the most hated people in Jesus time. They collected taxes for the Romans.

I used to know someone who saw his church grow tremendously because he knew how to love the unloved. No good sermons. No flowery preaching. Just loving the unloved and the unlovely.

Jesus is saying here that there is no reward in loving those who are lovely or those who love you! I do not know if they are lovely or they are just perceived to be lovely or they just think they are lovely. But that is a different story or discussion.

Do the impossible. Do the hardest thing.

Love the unlovely, and the unloved.

In the world, it is...

You scratch my back and I will scratch your back.

You lick the hands that feed you.
