The Old Testament character Jonah was a real man who ministered to real people, in a real place, at a real time – he was as fictitious as you are. This ‘bad-boy prophet’ was given a real mission, though he was a very reluctant recipient.
In this first exposition in a new series Pastor Cane helps to locate Jonah in Israel’s history and relate the crucial relevance of him being called to ‘arise and go’ in a way that highlights our need to cultivate a Christ-like compassion as we obey our calling to ‘arise and go’ into our Nineveh-like culture today.
This sermon was preached on Sunday, 22nd April, 2018 by Pastor Troy D. Cane during our morning worship service.
This sermon is #1 in the series "Jonah: Man on the Run"
