Luke 12: 42-48

Jesus tells this parable to his disciples after Peter asks him who he is speaking to: his disciples or everyone else. With this parable as a warning, he is urging watchfulness, being prepared and faithfulness using the example of a servant in charge of a household. He is either faithful to his master and does what he is supposed to and is rewarded or he is bad and wicked while his master is gone then he will be torn apart and cast out with the unbelievers. This is also told in Matthew 24: 45-51.
