The Word of God thru Parables
The Parable of the Vacant House
41 Of 46

Luke 11: 24-26
Matt 12: 43-45

This parable likens an empty mind to a vacant house that an unclean or evil spirit has left to seek rest elsewhere such as in a dry desert. He finds none and returns to the empty house (his mind), but it's swept clean so he invites his fellow evil spirits to come in and live with him. But he finds that his life is worse off than before. Thus, it is inferred that he did not choose to seek Jesus or God as guardians to defend him against evil spirits and demons because his own central beliefs were weak and lacking conviction. Therefore he finds himself worse off because the evil spirits have taken over his house (his mind).
