Can You See Him? Part 3

Matthew 26:14-16 & Luke 22:54-60
The LORD says, Forget what happened before, and do not think about
the past. Look at the new thing I am going to do. It is already happening. Dont you see it? Isaiah 43:18-19a (NCV)
Matthew 26:14-16
JudasThen one of the Twelve--the one called Judas Iscariot--went to the chief priests and asked, "What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?" So they counted out for him thirty silver coins. From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over.
Luke 22:54-60
PeterThen seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance. But when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat down with them. A servant girl saw him seated there in the firelight. She looked closely at him and said, "This man was with him." But he denied it. "Woman, I don't know him," he said. A little later someone else saw him and said, "You also are one of them." "Man, I am not!" Peter replied. About an hour later another asserted, "Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean." Peter replied, "Man, I don't know what you're talking about!" Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed.
JudasWhen Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders. "I have sinned," he said, "for I have betrayed innocent blood." "What is that to us?" they replied. "That's your responsibility." So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. Matthew 27:3-5 (NIV)
PeterThe Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: "Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times." And he went outside and wept bitterly. Luke 22:31-62 (NIV)
How Do I Move Past My Regrets?
1. Ask God For Forgiveness
God is faithful and reliable. If we confess our sins, He forgives them and cleanses us from everything weve done wrong. 1 John 1:9 (GW)
As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, `He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.'" Mark 16:5-7 (NIV)
2. Evaluate My Current Situation
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test my thoughts. Point out anything you find in me that makes you sad, and lead me along the path of everlasting life. Psalm 139:23-24 (LB)
The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." John 21:17 (NIV)
Jesus said,
•"Feed my lambs."
•"Take care of my sheep."
•"Feed my sheep.
3. Accept Responsibility For My Own Faults
When I refused to confess my sin, I was weak and miserable, and I groaned all day long. Psalm 32:2 (NLT)
Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, "Follow me!" Peter turned and saw that the disciple whom Jesus loved was following them, he asked, "Lord, what about him?" Jesus answered, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me." John 21:19-22
Admit your faults to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results. James 5:16 (LB)
4. Accept God's Forgiveness And Forgive Myself
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1 NIV
"Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd, When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?" Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:14, 37-38
There is no God like you. You forgive people who are guilty of sin.
You dont look at the sins of your people who are left alive. You, Lord,
will not stay angry forever. You enjoy being kind. Lord, you will have
mercy on us again. You will conquer our sins. You will throw away all
our sins into the deepest sea. Michah 7:18-19 ICB
